I love the stars, always have. I also love change. This was the last photo I took at my mom and dad’s farm before they left for a new adventure after 25 years of raising me here in Alberta, Canada.
It’s funny. I thought I might be a little emotional when the time came for them to go, but all I felt was pure excitement. Plus, my husband, puppy, and I will be joining them in a few short months on beautiful Vancouver Island. With this change, I plan for it to be an entire lifestyle adjustment. We love hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, basically just adventuring outdoors. And on the island, instead of living to work, we’ll be working to live. I understand the value of hard work and am so looking forward to combining my passion for adventure with the idea of chronicling it through beautiful photography. As we discover new and exciting gems, I’ll be sure to share!
I remember getting my very first camera at eight years old. I ran to the mirror and took a very crooked picture of myself… with the flash… so basically, you couldn’t see a thing. I was pro! All kidding aside, I’ve always enjoyed photography, just never really saw it as anything more. I’d like to change that and share my journey with others starting out.
You’re probably wondering about the name ‘Bears with Cameras’. Well my nickname has always been Claire bear and now it’s spread to the rest of my little family – even though it doesn’t rhyme… at all… ‘Sulley bear,’ see? Sulley is our sweet puppy who somewhat resembles the look of a teddy bear and my husband, Corey, has now adopted the shortened version of just ‘bear.’ So there you have it, Bears with Cameras!
If you decide to follow me on this new adventure, I hope my words bring a smile to your face, maybe a laugh or two, courtesy of my comedian husband, and enjoyment for the beautiful scenery this world of ours has to offer.
